Cucumbers

The cucumber market is currently experiencing low prices due to an abundant supply and limited demand. With Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania entering peak production, this trend is expected to persist throughout the upcoming week. Additionally, Mexico is supplying product; however, quality remains inconsistent.

Lemons

District 2 in California is in full swing now and amply volume should last through September. Smaller lemons 165s and up, continue to be tight as the heat has pushed the fruit toward larger sizing. Both Mexico and imports from South America are pulling strong numbers.

Lettuce

Iceberg supply and quality remain a concern with disease pressure affecting yield. Quality issues like tip and fringe burn continue to be monitored and removed during harvesting. The market is fluctuating depending on the day, but overall remains elevated.   

Peppers

The green bell pepper market is beginning to show signs of slowing down. While the market remains steady for now, the start of production in Michigan and Ohio this week may contribute to a reduction in activity. California continues to produce strong volumes, whereas Mexico is supplying lower quantities with inconsistent quality.

Potatoes

The market has tightened up as we near the end of the season for storage potatoes. Sheds are working to clear out space for the new harvest that are now rolling in.

Tomatoes

The tomato market remains stable for both round and Roma varieties. California is producing high-quality tomatoes, while Tennessee has recently started its season with satisfactory quality so far. Mexico has been exporting tomatoes with vibrant color, though the quality is assessed as moderate.
