The transition to the desert has started for some field-packed items, everything is expected to be full transitioned to Yuma by November 17th. Markets remain extremely escalated due to light supply and quality remains poor-to-fair on most commodities. Packers and processors are being selective, but shorter shelf life, prorates, and possible supply gaps will continue to be challenges for the next few weeks. There are good reports about quality coming from Yuma with crop being lighter in weight. Immediate price relief isn’t expected after fully moved to Yuma but expect things to stabilize slowly throughout December is Mother Nature cooperates.
