Lemons and oranges out of California are still very scarce, especially on smaller sizes with relief expected in the next 2-3 weeks. Imports from the east coast are slowing down, but still available. Mexican fruit is starting to come in slowly and should help fill the California gap. Substitutions in size may be necessary.

Wet, warm weather in and around the valley is intensifying disease pressure, forcing growers to cut product ahead of schedule to avoid massive crop losses. Supply is tightening due to lower yields on almost all items. Iceberg, romaine, green leaf, broccoli, and celery markets are continuing to elevate with no immediate relief in sight. The transition to the desert is just over a month away, but early reports from Yuma are concerning as they’ve had monsoon rainfall.
